Early in the team’s history, the women’s professional team, the Atlanta Beat, did not make a strong showing in their team play, nor did they have an impact on the league. However, in the recent years, the team has really picked up performance, as coaching staff, as well as the owners of the team, have really begun recruiting, and trying to build a team which can perform for their home crowd in Atlanta. The team had gone through a couple off seasons, and low win total early on in their development. And, many players wished to be traded, looking to go to a team where they could really compete, and hopefully win a title.

However, in the past 5 years of so, the team has really made a name for itself, and in fact, over the past couple years have made the playoffs, and look to do so again this coming season. With a young team, fairly new coaching staff, and owners which are willing to recruit the best, in order to get the talent to make it far in the playoffs, and hopefully to the finals, this young women’s team has a strong future ahead of them, if they continue with the strong level of play.
